Debbie’s life is falling apart. After the death of her parents she and her sister, Gillian, have had to step up and take over the running of the family business, Harpers Hotel and Spa, but when Gillian is been put in prison awaiting trial on murder charges for dangerous driving, something that she denies, that leaves Debbie to fend off offers from sharks circling the business and dealing with the day to day running of Harper’s alone. Damien MacKenzie is the biggest shark in the pond and he’s been circling around Harper’s for years. As a respected member of the local business community she is obliged to hear him out at a meeting that she really doesn’t need to be having right then. But when she can’t keep a leash on her tongue or her temper, things take a turn for the sublime, and she finds herself facing Damien MacKenzie’s proposition head on. The man has evidence that can prove her sister’s innocence – there’s just one condition for him to release it to the police – Debbie has two options, sell him Harper’s or be his to do with as his wishes for the term of a one year contract. Debbie’s not going to give him Harper’s which leaves her with only one option, to give him herself, but things take a surprising turn when it appears that Damien MacKenzie’s tastes run a little differently from other people – and Debbie comes to the shocking conclusion that she just might like it.
