Andrea (Andy) Warren is a food editor/critic for a local newspaper. Six years earlier she battles uterine cancer which takes away her ability to have children, a devastating blow to her dream of having a large family. She is shy of relationships since her ex-fiancé dumps her a month before their wedding. His reason? Her inability to give him his own babies.
She is assigned to write a series of articles on flirting, and the task pushes her way out of her comfort zone. She meets her best friend and co-worker at the Emerald Restaurant so she can gather some flirting tips. Instead she is on the receiving end of a glass of red beer and is rescued by her college crush, Ty Bennett. She is excited to see him, but he is not pleased by her presence in his restaurant. He believes that she snubbed him after college, and her vague explanation of being sick doesn’t soften his attitude toward her.
A doomed blind date sends her back into Ty’s life, and their relationship grows quickly. Her secret hangs over her. When is the right time for her to tell him, and how will he react to the news when he cherishes family and honesty the most?
